About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I have now received a letter which has been sent to my doctor from the consultant. The letter states I should have been admitted in for test 1 to 2 months after my results from my MRI were discussed in January 2014. After the intervention of my doctor I was admitted on June 16th when I was told I would have my results within 3 to 6-weeks. The letter also states he has only been made aware of no one contacting me in October with his secretary only knowing at the end of September. I have not spoken to the consultant but have spoken (and been ignored) by the secretary on multiple occasions. The secretary actually said after one phone call "is it you that called 2-days ago", this was at the start of September. Either the consultant or the secretary are liars, I certainly know the secretary is! This is disgusting utter rubbish that has been written. I now have a follow up appointment in November where it looks like I will find out what treatment I will get and what damage has been done during the time this incompetence has delayed it. Thanks Queens Neurology for making this the most stressful year of my life!

I’m very sorry to hear there have been serious communication issues with our hospital. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am concerned to learn about this and would like to investigate further. Please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
