My local surgery, Thames view Surgery, Barking, has had a few changes of doctors, and changing the doctor every time you go in is very hard. I don’t think this is even half the problem. I visited one Dr, who treated me like there was nothing wrong with me. I had fainted on the train and been asked by the ambulance medical team to visit my local doctor. Once in the room with him, he didn’t want to help and kept insisting nothing was wrong. After explaining time and time again he came to one conclusion, saying lets wait till this happens for another 2-3 times and we can see what to do. Being unwell and spoken to by a doctor in this manner was heart breaking. He gave me some medicines in the end, but not too long after that I was back complaining about more worrying health issues and he has to search the internet on Google to find what medication will suit me. Once that happened I bought the medication and a week later nothing was better but it got worse. I had given up by this time and visited a walk in centre and got better help from them.
Shortly after this problem my mum had a skin rash break out on her face. Visiting the same doctor on five different occasions, given five different creams and the prescription totally up to £35, the problem had only got worse. Fuming, I called the surgery and demanded to be seen by the main Practitioner, who is a very good doctor. The reception staff I spoke to was very rude, and were very quick in saying he is not available for the next four weeks. Working, paying and also dealing with extra stress is affecting her health too. She had to finally visit a doctor in India and was given some help that did help. I am sorry to have to complain, but I am the carer for my elderly grandmother and visit the surgery regularly. I am constantly worried about having the wrong information given to me, and treated like we are not welcome. It would be good if the reception staff realised that some people are forced to come in for an emergency situation. Kindly, could you write to me and give me further help or information on this matter. Thanks
"Not happy with level of service at my local GP surgery"
