After a recent hospital stay where I was informed in hospital that I had had a small heart attack, I was referred to their cardiology department. On looking at the ECG results, the cardiology nurse specialist and consultant confirmed that I had not had a heart attack but that the nurses in hospital had put the ECG wires in the wrong place and the doctor in training on duty had misread the ECG report. For weeks leading up to the cardiology appointment I had thought I had had a heart attack. The team in cardiology at the Royal were brilliant in reassuring me this was not the case.
