I was referred to EAU on the same day by my GP with symptoms of DVT. When we arrived we were asked to sit in the waiting room, as they were extremely busy and had no beds. We had to wait an hour before blood pressure or bloods were taken, and this was done in the waiting area with a curtain pulled around. We were there over 5hrs, with a lot of waiting in between tests, but kept fully informed of the length of wait and even offered a meal as an outpatient. The staff seemed extremely busy and overworked, but were very helpful and did not rush assessments.
