"Wonderful treatment"

About: Dorset County Hospital

In April of this year after an endoscopy I was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus. I was immediately put in the care of a Upper Gastro-intestinal & Unknown primary Cancer clinical nurse specialist. In no time at all she put the wheels in motion for my treatment. At every stage from chemo to my operation at Bournemouth she was always there making sure everything was in place and leaving me with a feeling of confidence in what lay ahead. In my opinion she goes over and above the call of duty! I have just been discharged from Bournemouth Hospital after an oesphagectomy operation which went very well, all arranged through Dorchester Hospital. You hear so many complaints about the NHS I just wanted to express my gratitude to you all at Dorchester for the treatment I received.

Thank you for your lovely feedback I will make sure the specialist nurses are aware of how much you valued the service they provided. Having a diagnosis of cancer can be a very frightening time and I am delighted the team were able to provide you with the information and reassurance you needed. I hope you are continuing to recover well and I am very grateful to you for taking the time to write your review. Kind regards, Alison Tong, Director of Nursing, Dorset County Hospital
