"a constant disappointment over many months"

I have a cataract in both eyes. My left eye has become so bad, I am terrified to drive at night. I was seen 9-10 months ago by a lovely Doctor, who asked why I had allowed the cataract to become so bad. I explained that I had not but the appointment tooks ages to come through. I have had a long succession of letters, and phone calls giving me dates for a pre-op assessment, only for them to be cancelled the following day. I was offered appointments in may which I could not accept, as I was receiving treatment for a failed hand operation which led to amputation of a finger. I recently received a text asking me not to forget an appointment on Monday 27/10, which came as a surprise as I had not received a letter to advise of this. Today I received a letter advising me of an appointment on Monday 3rd November. Given the history I expect this to be cancelled too. I have paid NI personally for 50 years. I own my own company which has to pay 13.8% of my salary in NI contributions. I am very very disappointed with the inept service and fed up with Hospital staff playing mind games with me
