"Thanks to all staff on D8 west block"

About: King's Mill Hospital / General medicine Newark Hospital / Accident and emergency Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Neurology

(as the patient),

I went to Newark AE Friday night as I could not stand the back pain any longer. I was quickly loses feeling in my right leg while being unable to pass urine. I was diagnosed with sciatica by my GP in May. On arrival at Newark AE they quickly transferred me to Kings Mill Hospital where they carried out MRI scan and fitted a catheter. What a relief! Early hours Sunday morning the decided to transfer me to QMC, D8 ward. Very quickly I was seen by a fantastic consultant Eyal Berhrbalk. Mr Berhrbalk carried out a spinal fusion after discussing risks etc. I've finally got my life back after 6 months of agony. He is the most considerate skilled man I could have wished for. Also the staff including nurses, care workers and catering staff were second to none. I work in care and see how care workers are always mentioned for negative incidents. These people are angels! Thank Mr Berhrbalk! Thank you D8!
