Having let my son be put into the care of ENT Alderhey and having just had major surgery, I am appalled, disgraced and dam right upset by the care and professionalism from the nursing staff at the ward L2. They were rude, unapproachable and made us, and our son feel in the way. When a 9 year old notices then they are really doing something wrong. The ward was chaotic and uncaring. He was sick, they ignored, he was in pain, he was ignored, he was hungry, he was ignored, he was distressed, he was ignored. I asked a question I was made to feel like an inconvenience. no one gave us information about family room, staying over, visiting times, food for the child etc so we had to ask the basics - they were unapproachable and if I had a ~£ for every time they said it was a little busier than normal I would be rich. I am absolutely disgusted and would hope we never have to experience them again, unfortunately for us we probably will. May I make a suggestion - if you don't like caring, and do not have compassion and understanding you should find an alternative job. Remember that every patient is important and so are their families, no matter how long they are expected to stay. Your treatment makes a lasting effect on people and can create avoidable stress, now and in the future. Awful and beyond a joke.
