I had a Hysterectomy in Jan 2012, having had the surgery on the Friday I was discharged on the Sunday. The surgery went well, the only trouble the surgeon had was getting the neck of the womb out. Upon discharge on the Sunday the staff nurse came round, gave me my bits and pieces and took the dressing of my wound (I was cut). On the early hours of Wednesday morning I was taken back in with what turned out to be cellulitis and MRSA, wither or not my wound should have been re dressed before discharge I don't know. Having been taken back in and put on the Victory Ward, I had a great time, in fact didn't want to come home, once out of danger I was put in a side room with a view of the Heli Pad, fed 3 times a day and even had my feet done, staff were brilliant especially the night team. We have a great NHS and you only ever hear the negatives, I for one are very grateful. Thank you Medway.
