"Great food"

About: Kettering General Hospital

I had to stay in hospital longer than was expected (nearly 2 weeks). I spent 5 days in the reception ward which was noisy and the staff were often overworked so some of my requests, and even medication times, were sometimes overlooked. This improved when I was moved to another ward although problems arose on days when a locum staff nurse was on duty who didn't know what to do. I was seen by a large number of different doctors, sometimes several in one day, who often gave me conflicting messages regarding my condition and treatment. On the plus side, I thought the food was fantastic. There was always a good choice and it was always delicious. The mealtimes were the highlights of my stay.

I am sorry to hear of your experience on our ward. As acknowledged the ward is an assessment area with a high patient turnover and can be quite a noisy/busy environment. Despite this the ward is disappointed that you felt some of your simple requests were overlooked. The ward team strive to ensure that our patients have a positive experience and your feedback will help us to reflect on how to further improve this. We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Jillian Turns Ward Matron Clifford I am pleased that your experience improved once you had been transferred to Harrowden A Ward. The Ward Matron listened to your concerns and the agency locum issues were promptly addressed. Carla Hevican Ward Matron Harrowden A
