"Edgware Walk-In"

About: Edgware Hospital

Today a friend of mine went to the Walk-In Centre at Edgware hospital as having a saw blade embedded in his finger nail. He had no Medical Number but had is Romanian thus a EU citizen with NI number, he had his Passport and International Driving license. He was treated pretty badly by one person at the reception. Then as not having a Medical Number could have to pay £75 for treatment. He was given directions to three other hospitals. Arriving home distressed and confused I ran Edgware Walk-In Centre to find out what had exactly happened. To reach anyone in that department on the number given is extremely difficult but eventually I reached what I believe was a member of the nursing staff. I explained my friend's difficulty and status. I was totally gob-smacked at the response from again what I presumed was a nurse. I was abruptly cut short with ' I don't need to know about all that, I am attending a patient now' Just as I started to speak again, the person cut me short again. I was then given a long explanation of people who had not registered in their own countries for Medical numbers etc. I asked three times how he could secure one if not returning to his own country. What a night mare this person is. If they speak to patients in the manner I was spoke to then lets all keep clear of Edgware's Walk-In Centre as you walk in to the lions mouth.
