"A & E"

Having visited A & E overnight with a severe nose bleed following concussion after a rugby injury I was concerned that overnight there was no specialist care for such an emergency. The staff clearly were not sure what to do for the best and a second packing of his nose, broke it and he was left in shock. Once the ENT staff came on at 8am the care was excellent. However the trauma of enduring constant bleeding from 1 - 8 am will stay with us for a long time. if this has occurred at 5.3- pm, he would presumably have to wait until 8am the next morning !!! You trust doctors for the care but feel somewhat in shock after this experience.
