My daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate (that was missed by a NHS scan which is another story) and the cleft team have been amazing!
The departments (speech & lang/ authodontist/ surgeon/ psychology/ audiology/ cleft nursing etc) know what each other are doing (and this is between 2 hospitals) are always at the end of the phone. The department are knowledgable, friendly and approachable.
My daughter has had 2 major operations, and a weeks stay in hospital for each - the care she received on boht occasions were fantastic.
