"HMP Nottingham - Visiting is Hard on the Children"

About: HMP Nottingham

(as a relative),

The prison could make it better for the children as its a horrible place to visit and children don't have enough to do and get bored. They could have more support from volunteers up at the prison as older kids haven't got enough to do either. When Risha the volunteer attends, she is brilliant and keeps the kids busy. There's not enough toys for the children and toys are not allowed to be donated.

It's hard on the older children as they haven't done anything wrong. When one does wrong everyone gets punished. Why are they always short staffed?

They could do with a TV and some cartoons shown in the visitor centre They could think more about making the visits better, there is no vending machine in the visitors centre you can't even get a cup of tea and have to leave the visitors centre to buy lunch or bring our own The family visits are good but we could do with them more of often, say once a fortnight and use them as a reward for good behaviour for the prisoners

It's benefits everybody.
