I was admitted for kidney infection in July. When I arrived I was taken to the assessment unit and saw a doctor very quickly. I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of all members of staff. After a couple of days I was moved to another ward. The nurses were very helpful with any questions and all their duties were carried out with compassion. It could not have been better treatment if they had been treating their own mothers. Every member of staff from consultants to cleaning staff were absolutely perfect. When complications in my condition appeared the Consultant explained everything in a very easy to understand way and I felt comfortable asking any questions I had. He explained he wanted other consultants opinions to exclude any other problems. The consultants came onto the ward to see me and were very approachable. The organisation on the ward was great Doctors ward rounds every morning approximately the same time, nurses coming with drugs ,mealtimes were punctual and very calm with staff on hand to help. The only problem I had was with the food which was not very appetising and I visited the restaurant a couple of times. A nice soup and a fresh sandwich would have been very welcome.
