"horrible exp regarding referrals"

About: King George Hospital

My 8year old daughter is suffering from recurrent urinary infections .she was reffered to king George urology dept some 1.5yrs back .They see her every 6mnths but cud not find the reason for these infections. On 7th aug 2014she was finally reffered to Royal london hospital. As we never heard from them i called up Royal london today ie 20th of oct and found out they never recd any referral.on calling up king georges the sec said i do have a dictated letter for referal ,i will send it today.wat was the letter doing ,sitting in a drawer, when my daughter is suffering from one more episode of infection.i m so frustated with this lack of accountability. If only it was being ensured that the letter was sent and recd by Royal london in time ,my daughty could have been seen by the doctor.why should my daughter suffer because the NHS staff dont do their work in time.

I am sorry to hear that the Royal Free London did not receive the referral form from our consultant. This is not acceptable, but for me to investigate this for you I will need more information. Please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
