"left in the lurch"

About: Priory Hospital Marchwood

When feeling very suicidal and going through a bad state of depression, I called 111 which then assured me that I would be under the safe hands of the mental health staff at the hospital which could provide a safe place where I could not be of harm to myself. The ambulance staff arrived only for them to tell me that due to the fact I had not taken action to my suicidal intentions as of yet, that there was nothing they could do but only take me to the hospital to speak with someone. Which actually all that happened was me waiting for hours and hours on end, being forbidden to even walk around during this wait to be then told at about 5 in the morning that the mental health doctors just suggest to go home followed by a phone call in the morning, which was never received. Really appalled at the lack of treatment or help from Southampton A&E. Nothing was achieved from my visit and was still left suicidal.
