"My wonderfull time in stepping Hill hospital..."

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

This was my first experience at least for anything serious of the National HealthService and I am truly amazed ! These comments are focused on Stepping Hill and the care I received there but the very same applies to the care I received over at Leighton Hospital. On arrival at the Hospital I needed directions and was given clear and concise directions,by two lovely ladies who never stopped smiling, how refreshing! Admissions. The nurse I was looked after by , immediately put me at ease with her calm and warmth , obviously a special person and someone who takes pride in her work.I can not thank her enough. The visit from both the surgeon and the anaesthetist put me at ease and I thank them and their team for the skill and care I received. Simple words can not express my gratitud! The walk down to the theatre was again both relaxed an upbeat . The ward C6. Words are not enough to thank your dedicated staff for the care and kindness I received ,it was exceptional (or the norm!) My first experience of a busy ward at night . The nurses monitoring and caring for me showed me both genuin warmth and caring and a wish to please! I was treated both with dignity and warmth.A big thank to the night staff. Morning! The day to day of the ward started. When breakfast came the young man serving breakfast went out of his way to tempt me into eating some food even a small amount he said , backward and forward till he satisfied my needs and I managed to eat a small amount. He obversly cared ! Worth mentioning is what food I did manage to eat was very tasty! About 3pm I was delighted to see my wife who I thought was visting ,no she was there to take me home.how amazing is that ! 23 hours after major surgery I had the choice that if I felt well enough I could go home to make my recovery and importantly it was my choice! I admit I was a little unsure but after the nurse explained how the tubes coming from my body would not fall out and yes I could move arround all was well. I'm at home know and being cared for by loving wife and family and it's wonderful! I hope to make a full recovery thanks to the wonderful staff of Stepping hill hospital and I will shout my praise from the highest hills! Be very proud of the work you do! Thank you so very much!
