"Absolutley disgusting"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

After phoning 111 on Wednesday morning after my partner became very unwell I was told it was high risk and told to take him to Queen Marys as we had been there at the weekend and they would phone ahead to say we were coming. On arrival he had deteriorated so much that I ran in to get help and was met my a doctor who held his hands up and said you cant come here we don’t have he facilities to deal with it. They called an ambulance. What happened next is horrendous - he had a temperature of 39.8 and they left us in the car park in the rain at 5am waiting for an ambulance. When my partner started shivering from the fever the dr suggested that he got a blanket for him - which never arrived as he went in and never came back. It was only when I told the paramedics that they couldn’t believe he even suggested a blanket when his temperature was so high. My partner spent 45 minutes collapsed on the floor in the rain throwing up and unable to look at any light, in agony and with a horrendous fever and they wouldn’t even let him wait for the ambulance in side. I am very disappointed at this quality of care as we did exactly what we are supposed to do by phoning the NHS helpline and followed their advise.
