"My wife could not move her neck"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

In October, my wife's neck got stuck while she was dressing.

After a telehone call I rushed home to see my wife unable to move. Her neck could not be moved and she was in terrible pain.

The ambulance was called, but unfortunately there was a strike on early a. m.

At last it arrived with two men and a woman.

They were all tremendous. They calmed my wife and eventually got her into the ambulance and taken to Derriford A &E.

Although it was a long process she was well looked after and eventually left the hosital at 10pm.

Nothing was found, but as a result of a scan my wife has wear in the lower vert. in her neck.

Why it got stuck we wernt told. Will it do it again, we dont know. Nobody says. ! !

The point I would like to make is how fantastic our medics are.

The ambulance crew were so good.

Give them enough money to carry on. They deserve it.

And how much did all this exercise cost? ? ?

NOTHING! !

Thank you all.

Dear adrainlean

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your wife is feeling much better now.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crews who came to your wife's aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
