I took my wife to the A&E department at the William Harvey on the the request of 111.
She had a fall about midnight, the paramedics thought she had not done any harm as she seemed OK apart from low blood pressure.
The following morning (Sunday) she had a bruise over her eye, after again calling 111 and stating she was on WARFARIN they informed me to take her straight to A&E.
Upon arriving the place was very busy but she was seen within 10 minutes where she was found, after a CT scan to have bleeding on the brain, they immediately contacted Kings Hospital at Denmark Hill London and arranged transport.
On seeing the Surgeon at Kings that evening he informed us that the A&E staff at WH had done everything right with with medication and getting her straight to them, any delay could have been fatal.
I can't thank the staff enough for saving her life, especially the Staff Nurse who was very comforting to me as I was rather distressed.
Again a big thank you to all concerned. Its not just a job, its a vocation
