"giving birth without epidural,although I..."

About: St Helier Hospital

I gave birth to so Helier this july. In general during my pregnancy I didnt have any complaints, midwifes were nice. During my labour though, despite the fact i jave asked to do an epidural, midwifes ignored me while I was in pain and asking for it. I ended up trying almost two hours pushing,I almost thought I wouldn't make it.. I strongly beleive it is unacceptable that they don't let you decide about this, because it is nhs policy to prefer natural birth. My recovery was really bad,I stayed 3 nights, in a full room.with so little space i felt really uncomfortable, not to mention that the toilets were really dirty two times I visited them.the food also bad.. This isn't what you expect in maternity ward.. I have to say though that almost all midwifes were really nice, the two I had were soo good and helpful.
