"Diabetes care"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

Despite my frustrations about the hygiene factors of my hospital appointments (rescheduling, unable to chose appointment date, waiting time for phlebotomy) I have to say the clinical team who look after me are excellent - caring, compassionate and above all focussed on helping me.

Today I had a great appointment. The whole team were there Dr Raj, Kath (DSN) and a lovely dietician (whose name I sadly missed) plus a dietetics student.

I went in well armed with my analysis of how well I was doing and they were so lovely. They were not fazed at all by my data and approach (I know I can be scary) and even suggested some further support using my downloaded data and correspondence via email.

I know that there is a lot of pressure on diabetes teams but I really value the 30 minutes they gave me and the fact they reassured me I was doing OK and came up with more help.

The team are newly formed too - more strength and thank you to them all: )
