I had contacted my optician as I was concerned about my eyesight and after consultation I was advised to attend the eye clinic at either Swindon or Salisbury. I opted for Salisbury as my records are there. The optician had given me the phone number for the clinic but unfortunately they told me I would have to first attend A&E. I arrived about midday and as the majority of people waiting had sports injuries it was some time (90 minutes at least) before I was seen by the triage nurse. Eventually I was sent to the Eye Clinic and by now it was about 4.15 and getting to the end of a long day for them. However I was dealt with as quickly as possible in a professional and courteous manner. The 2 doctors I saw were caring and efficient and after a series of thorough tests assured me that I didn't have a tear in the retina. I was given information as to what to expect over the next few weeks and returned home reassured. The only improvement would have been if I could have gone straight to the Eye Clinic as I felt the visit to A&E could have been bypassed in this case, easing pressure on the staff in A&E.
"Once again excellent"
