"Ashwell Ward City Hospital"

What a difference a few months seems to have made. My father is presently on the Ashwell Ward at the City Hospital - but the standard of care is unfortunately far from that reported by "Full483" and that of "Visitor353". Since arrival there has been no proactive contact from either doctors or nurses to any member of the family - in fact you are actually lucky to see a nurse around. My father is not alone - we cannot establish what exactly the emergency call facility is for, as it can be pressed for assistance with regards to the toilet and take over half an hour to get any form of response, and even that then can come with attitude - as if you are a major inconvenience. It would appear that the management at the City are attempting to keep staffing levels down to less than the bare minimum - I think it just isn't good enough. Based on my experience, I am at a loss to understand how the unit has obtained national and international recognition for excellence.
