I would just like to leave feedback regarding a particular Cancer nurse at RPH. They are everything that a cancer nurse should be, she is caring, calm and very informative. Recently, we were extremely worried that my husbands cancer had returned for the fourth time. The consultants secretary was awful to our GP. stating that although the scan results had come back in just one day (the scan people are great), we or the GP couldn't be told the results as the Consultant was on holiday, that there was nobody else who could tell the GP and that we would know either way in about 4 weeks, and would just have to wait (and worry !). When you have been through cancer several times, the waiting for results is terrible, and this time it was making me physically ill. This nurse took the time to go into the hospital at 9pm at night to check if she had any messages from patients, and found a message from me, she then rang us at nearly 9.30pm to put our minds at rest. We have still not heard from the consultants department weeks later. To bother about a patient at that time of night shows a great deal of care and professionalism. They are a credit to RPH.
