"ward 15 and ward 4"

I don't normally do reviews, but on this occasion I was moved to action as a result of the superb treatment I received as a very anxious patient throughout my two day stay, the first for surgery on ward 15 and secondly overnight and throughout the next day whilst awaiting a minor post operative procedure on ward 4. From initial reception to final discharge I was treated in a caring and professional manner with due regard to my anxiety, dignity and medical requirements. The handover between wards was seamless and further support and medical input was given by ward 15 staff prior to my discharge, which reflected their thoroughness of clinical care, rather than any short comings in staff and their excellence of care in ward 4. The standard of post operative care was exceptional. My Consultant interacted with me in a very professional and informative manner, taking time to carefully explain the procedure and his late evening visit to see how things were progressing was a defining moment, The surgical support staff during pre-op and in recovery reassured me that I was in good hands and being well cared for, My anaesthetist was informative, sympathetic and answered my questions and fears, offering support whilst acknowledging my anxiety.
