"Excellent paramedics and staff at Worcester Hospital"

About: West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My teenage son was treated at A&E at Worcester hospital on a busy Saturday recently. Firstly the care from the two paramedics that treated him when he was hit by a hockey ball at Worcester university was incredible. They straight away put my son at ease and realised that he needed immediate pain relief. They continued to reassure both my son and I all the way to hospital, always explaining what they were doing and why.

A&E was extremely busy and yes we ended up being there nearly 4 hours but the nurse, doctor (heavily pregnant), porter and x-ray staff all dealt with us as though we were the first people they had seen that day. They all equally showed a great deal of care and compassion. They should all be very proud of what they do as this is by far the best experience we have received at an A&E department before and we have had a few visits to our local hospital as our boys have always played a lot of sports! Well done Worcester.

Response from Regional Head of Patient Experience, West Midlands Ambulance Service

Dear Crossley

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and I do hope your son is making a good recovery.

It is always nice to hear patients experiences with the Trust. We would like to share your comments with the attending ambulance crew. If you are in a position to contact the Patient Experience Team on telephone number 01384 246366 or pals@wmas.nhs.uk so we can obtain additional information that would be great.

Thanks again for your comments

Regards

Marie
