About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

waited 7 hours to be seen! told by senior doctor 'have to wait for somebody to die before bed availability!' Partner admitted to CDU unit, no beds available on ward, extremely rude male bed manager. I asked him for the way out and he was exremely rude, and he walked away whilst I was still talking to him, would not have to come back to the hospital if the doctor had not dischared my partner on monday, when he still needed treatment

I am sorry to hear that your partner experienced severed delays in review and that our bed capacity problem exacerbated the wait. The comment made by the doctor was insensitive and no staff shoul dbe perceived as rude and discourteous to patients and their relatives. I will immediately pass these comments back to the Clinical Leads of the department.
