(as the patient),

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the midwives at Macc.

I had my daughter there last year and had planned on a water birth, thankfully all my ideas went according to plan and I was able to labour and give birth in the water. It was a great experience and couldn't have gone better if I'd planned it.

I received excellent antenatel and postnatal care too - all in all a great service and I plan on using you again soon!

Thank you for writing in with your lovely feedback about your experience in our Maternity Unit. We are really glad that you were so pleased with the care during your labour and your post and antenatal care. In the National Maternity Survey 2007 Macclesfield was rated amongst the best in the country. 98% of mums rating care during pregnancy as excellent, very good or good and 96% rating care during labour as excellent, very good or good.

Water births have proved to be ever more popular, and this year we have installed a second birthing pool. The new pool is in a room decorated to echo the theme of water and there is a glitterball and lights on the ceiling to create a relaxing ambiance. We asked mums who had used the Maternity Unit to help us choose the décor for the new birthing pool.
