"Making appointments at the Doctors Surgery"

I'm registered at Davyhulme Medical Centre, (Greater Manchester) but I don't go to my doctors very often because of the telephone answer machine message you get when you ring up. It tells you to press different numbers for different things. I can't get on with it so I just ask my husband to make appointments for me when he goes in.

A while ago, I had an appointment with a doctor and had to wait a long time to see him, even though his name only came up once on the waiting room screen in half an hour. When I mentioned it to him he said that some appointments take longer than others but I don't think this is right.
