"I feel able to cope with life’s challenges"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I worked alongside my therapist to address specific issues I had with depression, anxiety and pain. I was able to discuss treatment options and areas for therapy to carer. I worked on myself, my negative thoughts, my role within my family, pacing, worrying and how to tackle concerns by working through a pros and cons list.

My therapist guided my current problems and helped me by focussing work in sessions around home work. I think its really important for clients to take responsibility for themselves, to work hard outside of sessions, to be open with therapist and at least try new techniques – with aim at goals agreed by both parties. I feel able to cope with life’s challenges, and reassured that I can come back should things become too difficult for me. My family life has improved and I am more confident dealing with mental health problems.

Massive thanks to Inclusion Matters.

Dear Quality500,

Thank you for your feedback and it's great to hear that you have found your treatment helpful and that you now feel more confident and have an improved family life.

You're absolutely right- therapy is very much about you and your therapist working together to help you achieve your goals. I'm sure others will find your comments helpful.

Best wishes

Tracey
