I recently injured my foot tripping over a pot hole in the road and was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where it was x rayed and I was then sent home.
A couple of days later as my foot was still very painful I went to Ayr Hospital. The atmosphere here is completely different the the atmosphere I experienced at Cross house, staff very friendly and approachable. I was referred to Mr. Young who examined my injury and arranged for a follow up examination.
The follow-up was yesterday when I saw Mr. Larges. He was very thorough looking through my notes and even calling Mr. Young to check on details. He arranged for an MRI scan and for physiotherapy to be given.
This is so different from the treatment my husband received at Crosshouse earlier this year after a heart attack. We were not kept informed of what was going on, I was unable to see him and staff took little notice until I filed a complaint when they could not seem to do enough!
I just know at Ayr that people will get back to you and I could not get better care elsewhere. It would be great to see Ayr expanded with a children’s unit.
