"Not a good place to be"

A member on my family was in the adolescent unit - Tuxford. Whilst some of staff were helpful and friendly, the vast majority of them could speak very basic English and were really not more than people watchers. I didn't see evidence of any communication between carers (not nurses) and children in there, no playing with them, talking to them, amusing them. All of the toys are broken. There is hardly anything outside to do - despite a lovely drawing of what is going to happen to the place in 2012!! The place itself is grotty and grubby. Not suitable for purpose. It annoys me that these children are treated like second class citizens. Prisoners get more benefits. NHS please employ the right people for the job, ones that seem like they actually want to be there.
