"Arhroscopy of the knee."

About: James Paget University Hospital

I was admitted into James Paget hospital ward 7, for a knee procedure. I was treated with great respect, by friendly staff, and the nirsing staff were lovely. After blood tests, blood pressure test I was then introduced to the doctor, who explained fully what was going to happen during the procedure. Then the anaethetist, who was extremely friendly and humerous and put me at my ease. He explained the different ways of anaethesia, and I decided to leave that decision to him. I was then wheeled down to the operating theatre, by a very nice and again very friendly assistant/porter. Once in the pre op room I felt at ease and quite relaxed. I can remeber being fitted with a canular, then nothing more.........Untill I was woken by a very friendly nurse, who told me it was all over...? amazing, i was not in any pain, but the sight of my bright red legs, I thought I had fallen asleep in the sunshine and woken up with sunburn..... fter being wheeled back to my ward, i was given a lovely cup of tea and a sandwich, and some lovelyjelly and ice cream..... Later in the day i was able to go home. I want to say what an amazing place te hospital is. I have been back and forth for the past two years with heart problems and regular blood tests.. I have not had any cause to complain, and the waiting times were near to time... I want to say thank you to all involved in my treatment.. everyone seemed so busy, but always has a friendly face or smile.... comforting and caring.... Thank you everyone for my care.

What a fantastic review, and thank you for taking the time to record your thoughts. I have passed on for all the staff you mention to see what you have said, not just the orthopaedics team. I hope you are recovering well. Ann Filby, Head of Communications
