A&E was seen quite fast by a doctor.

What could be improved

i went in with severe lower back pain, i could barely move and was very scared and had tried pain killers. i was told that i needed a spinal xray and a MRI but was told i couldnt have one through a&e as my pain was not due to a trauma, ie a fall or something similar. the doctor was adament that this was the only way to diagnose my problem but i couldnt have it due to policy. she told me i had to get my gp to refer me as this is the only way to get a spinal xray. i was shocked. i work in care and cant believe they sent me home in imense pain, with, at there own admission no way of knowing how serious my problem was. the doctor apoligised profusly and told me that she thought the protocol was silly herself. i feel absolute disgusted that i havnt had the treatment i need. im now sat at home in immense pain and cannot do anything about it.
