I had a fantastic experience at the Royal Sussex and I'm really grateful to all the staff i came across during my stay. Firstly, I really appreciated how everyone endeavoured to respect my wishes for a natural birth, even when this became impossible and i had to have an emergency C Section. They explained things carefully and were really supportive during what became a very stressful experience. The anaesthetists were professional, kind and understanding, holding my hand through the procedure and offering reassuring words that genuinely calmed me down. I was really touched when both came to visit me after the birth to check on our progress. My stay in hospital was made so easy by the unfailingly kind midwifery staff. Nothing was too much trouble and I learned so much about caring for my baby from them in those early days. I wonder how easy I would have found it at home without that care and advice! I met so many different people throughout my 3 day stay and everyone of them made the experience a really positive one. Thank you!
