"Rude nurse"

About: Crawley Hospital / Urgent treatment centre

This evening, after checking in the Urgent Treatments area reception, my father and I waited for a nurse to see us, as I was suffering quite worrying symptoms. Upon discussion, the nurse seeing us basically told me that I should've made an appointment with my GP. After I'd said that usually, at my local surgery, it takes a couple of weeks to get an appointment and that I felt this was an urgent matter, he literally replied for me to leave and call 111. Doing so, the person at the 111 line told me to see a doctor immediately as possible, within the hour. My father then took it upon himself to make it clear to the reception that I needed to see a doctor, however after waiting a further 45 minutes, we left. I am going to go to Horsham hospital tomorrow and see if their services are any better.

Dear Ms Boothby

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy about the care you received when you visited our urgent treatment centre with your father. We always want to put things right when people are unhappy, so can we ask you to contact us directly so we can review the case via our patient advice & liaison team on 01273 242292 or via sc-tr.serviceexperience@nhs.net?

And if you subsequently attended our minor injury unit at Horsham Hospital we'd be keen to hear about your experience, as we also run this centre.
