"Diabetes Services"

About: NHS Croydon CCG

(as the patient),

The last eighteen months I been referred to see a Diabetes specialist but only managed to see one in the last three months. The reason this has happened is due to services being auctioned off to the cheaper health borough. In my case as I was living in croydon, the service was won by Bromley council. They took a while to set them self up whilst in the meantime I was waiting to be seen. My appointment eventually came through but it was not in my nearest clinic (Shirley clinic) nor the nearest hospital. ( Croydon Hospital) but somewhere far to travel in a Doctors clinic in Norwood. I had to get my wife to drop me there and then pick me up after two hours. I do not like this new setup where services are auctioned to cheapest healthcare when I should have gone to my local hospital. I am heart patient who has had stroke, diabetes, eye problems, breathing difficulties and have problems commuting from place to place. Why cant we have the services in our local hospital
