In February 2014 my father of 83 years was diagnosed with bowel cancer by his doctor, He was referred to Musgrove. He has had to go there ten separate times from Bridgwater four for blood tests, four for biopsies and two for consultations. After all that he received a letter to go in to the surgical admissions lounge at 07.30 am for a major operation which takes four hours, You can imagine the state he was in as he has not been very well since the last biopsies was taken.[losing blood]. Well we got there at 07.30 my father had his wrist band put on, blood pressure done his socks measured up and a marker put on his stomach where the stoma will be and told about all the tubes he will have in him for a short while after the operation. Then at 10.30am we were told that the surgeon was ill . They told us we would have to go home and wait for another appointment. I was very upset about all what happened to my father of 83 years that is why I am having a moan. Why did the surgeon not phone in the day before it would save all the upset. PS My father doesn't know I am writing this review please do not mention it to him. Thank you.
