About: Good Hope Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Other Hospitals through out England are offering free parking to those who have to visit several times and over years after cancer treatment, why isn't Good Hope?

Other Hospitals are not charging for the first hour, why isn't Good Hope?

These issues need addressing, as more and more of us are facing this deadly disease, surely it would be a comfort knowing that every time a patient visits the Hospital they would not need to worry about another mounting cost, along with maybe not being able to work.

Also for a woman wearing a head scarf or hat due to hair loss have the knowledge that would not need to approach others, maybe for change to put in the machine.

Something needs to be changed.

Thank you for posting your message.

As a Trust we took the view some time ago that we would offer discounted parking for all patients who need to make multiple visits to the hospital - we think this is a fairer system. Currently a 20-visit pass costs £10 and the staff in the department you are attending should be able to help you get a pass.

To reassure you, we use the money raised from our car parks to invest in new facilities - at Good Hope this will include a multi-storey car park & revised internal road layout / entrance planned for next year.
