"orthapaedics"

About: James Paget University Hospital

I have had chronic knee pain since the end of march with several appointments back and forth to this poor excuse of a hospital. I had an xray on 08/01/14 which showed nothing as I expected and was referred to a trauma clinic a few weeks later. The doctor was ever so pleasant and seemed to care that I was in pain. He made me an appointment for the next day in orthopaedics which I attended which great expectations. Those were dashed when I was in my appointment I will explained to everything including being in the previous day at the trauma clinic which the nurse kept saying I went to a&e not trauma clinic so I had to repeat myself again until she listened and gave directions where I went for my trauma clinic appointment. The doctor finally examined me and just decided on an MRI. Had that waited for next appointment but didn't show up so I had to call the hospital and whoever booked my appointment booked me in the wrong department so had to book another appt while I was there for orthopaedics for the following week. I arrived for that appt they were running over an hour late and I was supposed to see the doctor who sent me for MRI but saw a very rude male doctor. Had physiology at my local health centre and was referred back to hospital appt on 14/08/14 when I saw doctor his words where I don't know what to do so I will send you for another MRI but u may not get it. I did had it on 11/09/14 but didn't get the follow up appointmet for the doctor so I had to ring again as the doctors secretary failed to do her job. Now waiting to come in on 23rd of this month not expecting much but I might be surprised. When all this is sorted I will be issuing a formal complaint.

I am so sorry to read your review and that you have not been happy with the appointments you have had with us this year. I will definitely pass this on to the team. Ahead of making a formal complaint, and your next appointment on the 23rd, I would urge you to please get in touch with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01493 453240 - with your consent they can look at your details and help to resolve them for you - more details available on our website http://www.jpaget.nhs.uk/patients-visitors/patient-advice-liaison-service-(pals)-and-complaints/ Ann Filby, Head of Communications, 01403 452162, ann.filby@jpaget.nhs.uk
