At the end of this month, October 31st it will be 2 years since I had my oesophagus and part of my stomach removed in North Staffs, (another great NHS hospital) my treatment started at Leighton in the Macmillan cancer unit. My son dropped me off at the door on his way to work, I was very nervous and did not know what to expect, I was the first to arrive and sat alone in the waiting room (my treatment was down for 3 full days of chemotherapy). A young nurse came out to greet me and took me through to the ward, within a few minutes of her talking to me I felt completely at ease. By the end of my 3 visits they all seemed like family, Two young ladies I will always remember, but all the staff were fantastic and will remember them for the rest of my life. To anyone needing to go there you are in great hands, they are good at their jobs and care about the patients, nothing is to much trouble. They are worth 10 times what they get paid! John Ashbrook
