My step grandfather had a stroke nearly two weeks ago and he is unable to do anything for himself. He is also struggling to talk but despite this he was sent home yesterday with no aftercare information or advice.
By the end of the day he ended up back in hospital after having another stroke. It seems to me that the care for patients is not as important as freeing up bed space.
I understand that beds are needed, but shouldn't patients who are already in hospital be checked over and assessed and be given aftercare advice before any doctor decides that they can go home?
