"Disappointing"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

I went to the eye department @ Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, today 6.10.14 @ 11.05am. I believe it is under Kings Colleague Hospital.. The staff were vey unhappy, did not seem to want to be there & we patience, We're in the way! You only had 1 Doctor on, to deal with all the patients. I was not told when I checked in, that there would be a 4 or 5 hour wait! I was seen by a nurse @ 13.00, who was very stressed, there was no inter action. I had drops put into my eyes, and told to get a sandwich, coffee ect @ come back & wait in another waiting room. Some people were told ( found out later) to go away & come back in 2 hours. This was never mentioned to me! I was not seen by a doctor until 15.40... That is 4 & 1/2 hours later (for 10 mins visit) I had not had any water or food in that time, as I did not want to miss my slot & did not know until later that there was this delay! I am 56 years old, I hardly ever go to the Dr's, my experience has left me, felling like I have just been to a 3 rd world hospital. And that is not a reflection of the treatment, it is of the whole process... Even down to the whole department, which was a ward! If you had told people then they can make choices. A Disappointed patient Mrs Jill Lear
