"Department of Cardiology - OP Coronary Angiogram"

I am writing to commend the very professional and personal service provided by all of the staff that I had contact with in my recent visits to the hospital for initial consultations and tests, then in preparation for and having an angiogram. The consultant was a extremely approachable, considerate and professional who made time for me, returned my calls and explained the options simply and clearly to ensure I understood the alternatives. I received prompt and professional service form all staff during the reassessment. I attended the Cathlab at the Cardiac Centre on Friday 3rd October, and the preparations for the angiogram were completed smoothly and efficiently. I specialise in leadership and organisational development, and consequently took a particular interest in observing how the Cathlab functioned: my bed position allowed me a direct view of the Cathlab and the staff working at the central station. The atmosphere in the Cathlab is very professional yet relaxed which enables patients to more easily relax, and every member of staff showed sincere interest in and concern for each patient. When I was taken into the room for my angiogram staff clearly explained the procedure to me, and preparations were completed quickly and efficiently. The staff continued to talk to me during the procedure, and the doctor explained the results immediately the procedure was completed. The nursing staff were very attentive during the period following the angiogram, and regularly checked on me to ensure I was ok. I ask you to inform the Chief Executive, and also inform the consultant and all of their colleagues that looked after me that I personally thank them for their care and attention.
