"Oustanding Service"

About: Leighton Hospital

On Friday 2th Sept I went to A & E with chest pains and from the second I entered the hospital the level of service and care was 1st class. The reception staff were brilliant and I booked in quickly and saw the nurse and doctors within minutes. It was confirmed later that day that I had suffered a heart attack and the following day I was transferred to North Staffs for treatment. I just want to say thank you to everyone at Leighton for the excellent care I was given from each person involved looking after me. Keep up the fantastic work and thank you once again

I am very sorry to read of your frustrations regarding your visit to ED . I can assure you that every effort is made to ensure patients are seen as efficiently and safely as possible. I am unable to comment on your specific experience without knowing the date and time to review patient acuity and numbers within the department whilst you were there. However, I can assure you that the number of people in the waiting room or ambulances attending does not necessarily reflect the workload within the department. I sincerely apologise about the lack of accessibility to the confectionary machines and will ensure that this is rectified. If you wish to discuss your concerns in more detail, then please contact the customer care team on 01270 278098 who will ensure that we are able to meet or talk about your concerns. Sue Talbot-Crosby, Matron, Emergency Department
