Visited x-Ray on Monday 29 th september 14 at 4.00pm waited not very long to be shown to a room where my daughter was told to undress & leave her underwear on & shoes & soaks , I was asked to wait in the changing area by this gentleman , I heard the gent then ask my daughter her date of birth & address to then ask whether she might be pregnant & has she started her periods to my amazement as she was only 9yrs at the end of June . When the gent came back he then asked my daughter if she wanted to tell me what they discussion was I'm flabbergasted by this attention to detail , we had a ultra-sound scan 4 weeks ago & was treated lovely what is going on ? One upset mum & my daughter couldn't stop crying as it's bad enough being a strange place not feeling well to be asked these questions . Need some answers please ????

Many thanks for these comments; I am terribly sorry for the distress that this situation has caused. It is not our policy to ask someone this young about periods or pregnancy. It is a mandatory question for females between the ages of 12 and 55. I have shared this comment with the Manager for radiology who will re-iterate our policy to all staff members.
