"Great staff!"

About: St James's University Hospital

I was very impressed with the care I received when attending the A&E department a few days ago. They were clearly doing a hard job under difficult circumstances, and despite this they were caring and helpful. My only negative comment would be that the Clinical Decisions Unit is too small to deal with number of patients it does, I was in a wheelchair in the main waiting area and kept having to be moved about because I was getting in the way. People were also having to squeeze past me and kept knocking my hand, which was attached to a drip, and this was quite painful. Also, I couldn't get either of phones in the reception area to work. I know we live in a world where every man and his dog has a mobile now but as I didn't don't have a working one on me, it wasn't very helpful.

Dear Natalie Thank you for your very constructive feedback regarding A&E at St James’s Hospital. I have made the Matron for A&E aware of your comments. Thank you once again for taking the time to write with these comments. Feedback from patients is so important as it helps us to improve our services. With kind regards Rosie Senior Nurse Patient Experience
