"in 20 hours i had no food one ..."

About: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

(as the patient),

What I liked

in 20 hours i had no food one cup of tea the same dirty dressing put back over an infected wound many times both in the out patients area and on the ward i had to ask for clean dressing,

they didn't know if there was a bed or not for several hours at first there was then there wasn't eventually i was told my bed was ready and it hadn't been made one of the women who cam to make it obviously felt put out and made it plain she didn't want to be the, that was 8pm approx i had had no food or drink and din't get any till i pesterd the next day. Because i am limited on what i eat i did not get fed and made to feel like i was a nusance,

so no food no clean dressing i lost it and signed myself out, with an infected after op wound

What could be improved

the nurses and health care assistants could ask if you need food and liquid and they should change the dressing every time the wound hase been exsposed to the eliments

Anything else?

treat al patients with dignity and respect answer the patient call bell in less than 30 mins. less staff gossiping and more commitment. Do away with nursing staitions tomuch ideal chatter ges on around them
